Doing What's Required To Succeed

by: Lois R. Thompson

This is an area in which I believe most people miss their opportunity for achieving success.

Your first requirement should be in identifying your passion. There a saying which goes: "the gifts and callings make room for themself". The same is true with your passion. Once you haveidentified your passion, it`s amazing how the creativity, commitment and perseverance will being to flow.

Do you recall the musical `Man of La Mancha`? Here Don Quixote urges all who will listen to "dream the impossible dream". What is your dream, what sparks your passion? Your passion is really your destination, and your goals are your transportation.

What does identifying your passion have to do with all this.

We`ll take a look at that in a moment, but first.

* Sharpening your vision

Without a vision we perish, struggling aimlessly though life, with a sense of defeat and nagging unfulfillment. It is therefore important to develop a clear vision for your life. Again, what is your passion? What is it that stirs you from deep within?

Dig deep, find it and bring clarity to it.

* Establish a pattern for success

As we`ve learned goal setting is a key factor in our journey of success. Since goals range between long term and short term, you must learn how to distinguish between the both. Be honest and realistic about the amount of time and monetary cost associated with achieving your goals. Are your objectives worthy of the temporary sacrifices? Only you can determine that.

The achievement of one`s goals and dreams requires work. Are you willing to do due diligence? Many people blow it here. They set lofty goals, then they sit and wait for it to happy. Success doesn`t happen that way. It calls for a definite plan, a timetable, discipline and perseverance.

* Commit to giving

The concept of Network Marketing is based on the principle of giving first. You`ll find that when your goal is centered around giving into the lives of others it releases a fire to your passion and sustenance that enables you to remain unmovable during challenging time.

Here is a true story to demonstrate this concept.

In 1921, while working for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, DeWitt Wallace was faced with some hard times. But he never loss sight of his passion. His goal and dream which was to publish a `little magazine` as a Reader`s Service. His concept of this service was to provide the reader with condensed articles offering information of value, issued in a small pocket size publication that the reader could have readily accessible. DeWitt set out on his mission with a clear vision, and a well thought out plan he set out for his accomplishment.

DeWitt, began contacting known publishers of his day, including the well-known William Randolph Hearst. Mr. Hearst rejected DeWitt`s concept. Being a man committed to the conviction of his passion of `helping other people`, he forged forward in face of the obstacles. He is quoted to have said: "I don`t care if I made a penny, as long as the magazine served the reader". What conviction? what passion?

With a sharpened vision, an established plan and an unwavering commitment to work for the good of others, DeWitt Wallace and his wife Lila moved confidently on to achieve their objective in 1922. It`s amazing, but as they did it the way was made clear before them.

Finally, when the Wallace`s died the `little magazine` they had started in the face of many challenges had 100 million readers, 30 million subscribers, 18 million of which were in the United States, an heritage of the greatest publication success story of all-time and a world-renowned magazine known as Reader`s Digest.

So regardless of the size of your goal, keep it centered in helping others, stand steadfast in you determination to it`s success and forge forward. It can be done!

As you`ve just read in the story of DeWitt and Lila Wallace, the first priority should not be about how much can I make at the expense of others. No, instead how can I utilize my passion to serve others. How can I assist you in achieving what you want. It is in that, that I`ll receive what I want.

Here is how that could be applied.

There is gentleman in one of my down-line organizations. He loves our product, sees the benefit of it for himself and others. However, his passion is Golf. He not only loves golf, but is passionate about providing useful information to other golf enthusiasts. For a while there seemed to be no way to connect the two. Then suddenly in a conversation we were having I asked the following questions, he gave the following answers:

My question:

Do you think the folks to whom you are offering info on Golfing would have a need to increase their income so they could more easily afford the cost of playing golf?

His answer:

Yes

My question:

Do you think some of those golf lovers you are reaching would love to be able to retire from their JOB early so they could peruse their passion of playing golf?

His answer:

Yes

My question:

Then do you suppose some of those reading your information on playing golf would like an opportunity to increase their income...become debt free?

His answer:

Yes

The point of this being, his heart is in the right place. He is following his passion which has to do with playing golf. In doing so he is offering a service which tells golf lovers where they can find discounted golf courses and such. Here is not persuing his passion for his own selfish gain, but he is doing so for the good of the many. Through the relationship which was developed with his golf loving buddies, he now has the opportunity to see their need and offer them the solution by introducing them to his MLM opportunity.

Get the picture? :-)

That`s what Network Marketing is all about and what`s requires for your success.

It`s time to discover your passion. Find an MLM opportunity inharmony with your life`s goals and dreams and incorporate the needed Affiliate Programs working in synergy. Not only will you be touching and changing many lives, but you`ll be experiencing life to it`s fullest as you accomplish your greatest dreams.

Balancing The Wheel Of Life

By David Ledoux

Have you ever done the "Wheel of Life Exercise"? It's a favorite staple of the coaching industry. You take a blank piece of paper, and draw a large round clock on a page. You know, big circle, center point, arms from the center point to the outer circle like the numbers on a clock.

It almost looks like a big apple and rhubarb pie sliced into 12 pieces.

How did you do? I got a 'B' in art class. I hope you followed my wonky directions!

Each slice of the pie represents a key area of your life. I have my coaching clients label each piece with titles meaningful to them. Popular examples are "health, wealth, recreation, family, relationships, spirituality, charity, education, career, etc." Try this for yourself.

Now imaging that the center of the pie represents ZERO, and the outer edge of the circle represents that area of your life as a perfect TEN. You then rate each area of your life based upon your current satisfaction level
with that area. For example, maybe your relationships are a 6, your health is a 7, your income is a 4, your career is a 5, your spirituality is a 8, etc.

Make a little mark on each slice to represent the score for each area.

Then join each mark together to get a weird blobby shaped Wheel of Life.

I may never have met you, but I'm pretty sure that you didn't score yourself a perfect TEN in each key life area. If you did, then send $10,000 to your favorite 5 charities....good for you. In 15 years of doing this I have yet to meet a perfect TEN in each area!

Obviously a Wheel Of Life that is out of balance will crash at any speed above a slow crawl. That's why often our lives seem so crazy the minute we start moving in any direction quickly. It's like the proverbial shopping cart at the grocery store...one bad wheel causes accidents!

Many of us are acutely aware that our lives are out of balance. The big question is,"What do I do about it?"

That's where Strategic Thinking plays an important role. It is critical that you take time each and everyday to do nothing but just think. Here's what I do.

I get up at 7 am every morning Monday to Friday. I put on jeans, a sweatshirt and an old baseball cap to cover my bed head. I pop on the headphones with some relaxing instrumental music on my cd and start walking. I walk 30 minutes away from my house, then turn around and walk back. That's my hour walk each morning.

On the walk I focus on my breathing for 5 minutes, just quietly waking into the day. I then do 3 minutes of listing everything that I am grateful for. Then I visualize my day, week, month and year for about 7 minutes. By then I have been walking 15 minutes, I am wide awake, energized, and then I focus the next 45 minutes on Strategic Thinking.

This has worked wonders for me! I have created business plans, new products, goals, trips, and had amazing creative ideas on these walks. One of the patterns that I have begun to do is to break Key Life Areas into Areas of Improvement. I'll give you an example, Health.

For years I had no definitive strategy when it came to my Health. I ate relatively well, exercise occasionally, kept my waistline under 32, and was managing fairly well with stress. With no focused goal for my health, it pretty much coasted along. Once I started Strategic Thinking, everything changed.

I first broke Health into sub-categories so I could focus my improvement. I now work on Flexibility, Strength, Cardio, Diet, and Stress Management. I found books related to each sub-category, and began to self-educate. I sought out the best experts in each field to learn their strategies. Within weeks I was making significant progress in each area. With an actual goal to shoot for my energy levels, flexibility and strength and body fat levels have all improved.

So here's my challenge to you. Take a minimum of 30 minutes each day at least 5 days a week just for yourself for the next 21 days. Give yourself the gift of personal quiet time so you can practice Strategic Thinking on all of the important areas of your life. Separate yourself from the masses that live from crisis to crisis in reaction mode from dawn 'til dusk. Watch the amazing changes unfold in your life!

Are you ready to take the challenge? Let me know what you think of this article!

Network Marketing: Its All About Customers

By Priya Shah

Leadership, Visualization, Goal-setting, blah, blah...

All network marketers have heard that jargon at one time or another. But you know what? It's just that - Jargon.

When you share with your team, the lessons you have learnt while building your business - that's Leadership.

When you imagine that new car or house on the beach, that you're going to buy next year with the income from your business - now that's Visualization.

And when you plan exactly how you're going to go about getting that new car or house - well, that's Goal-setting.

It's that simple...

And yet people complicate it so much that they write entire books, and have entire courses to teach you these "skills."

But they're missing the whole point, really. Because network marketing is really about customers.

Think about it.

Why do companies get into network marketing? DUH. To sell products, of course!

And why do they choose to sell their products through network marketing?

Because network marketing is really the most efficient way of selling products.

After all it's all about people selling (or recommending) products they USE to their own network of friends and acquaintances. To people who TRUST them.

So if you want to serve your customers better through your network marketing business, here are a few things to ask yourself.
1. Are you in the service business or recruitment business?

If you are in the business of helping people - whether to become healthier, or financially independent - you should consider yourself as providing a service. And a service runs on customers.

Sure, there are plenty of people out there who want to start a home business or join a business opportunity.

But if you focus on the opportunity, you'll be competing with a whole lot of other, more established networking companies, for a new prospect's time and money.

Instead, if you focus on your products (and I'm assuming they are unique, excellent products that meet a real need), you'll have very little competition.

Besides, it's so much easier to sell a product than to sell a dream.
2. Is your product right for them?

I've seen people recommending their products to customers as a "miracle" solution to all their problems. This is not only misleading, but is bound to backfire.

Ask yourself - are there other options for my customers? Are there cheaper, perhaps more effective options, that can help them?

Perhaps they can't afford your product right now. Or perhaps there are other, albeit less effective options, that might meet their immediate needs better.

Almost everyone needs to get healthier, or richer. But how they choose to achieve their goals should be their choice, not yours.

Certainly, give your customers all the information they need about your products. It's not your duty to suggest alternatives.

But sometimes the best way you can serve them is by letting them know that they are free to explore their options and get back to you when they've decided that your product meets their needs best.

You'll not only have a grateful customer, but also build trust and goodwill. Your customer will think of you as someone to depend on, and come back to you when they need advice.

Yes, you might lose a customer, but you'll have gained a friend.
3. Do they really need the business opportunity?

Once you get a new customer, do you instantly start shoving the business opportunity down their throat? If so, you're doing them a disservice.

Yes, do show your customer how they can reduce (or even completely recover) their costs by becoming a distributor and recommending the products to their friends.

Offer them what they want - a cheaper way to purchase your products.

But also accept that some of them may just want to keep buying products without ever building a business.

And appreciate them for contributing to your paycheck.

Ultimately all business is about building trust. So the next time you process an order or answer a query, focus on building a relationship, rather than a business.

If you're a friend to your customer and do what's right for them, you can be secure in the knowledge that what goes around will definitely come around.

Wow, pretty powerful article. Let me know what you think!

You Need A Miracle? Build One, Everyday!

by Richard Vegas

Henry Ford, after he had achieved great success, was the subject of much public
criticism. Many people thought that he was very lucky, some thought he was a
genius, some thought he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, some
thought that powerful friends and influential people were the "secret" of his great
success. Why some people even thought he was so mean, that once he found
out there would not be any chocolate in heaven, he would decide not to go. Let's
uncover the real story.

It's probably true some of these things were involved. Except the last one. But,
there was something more about Henry Ford that only very few close friends and
family knew. And, those few people didn't speak much about it because it was so
embarrassing.

You want to know what it is? I thought you did. Read on. Henry Ford had a
dream to build a gasoline engine with 8 cylinders in one block. His engineers told
him it was impossible. He told them, build it anyway. They said, no way. He said,
find a way.

After a full year the engineers still had not developed the V-8 engine. Ford
told them, I want it, and I'll have it.....Build it. Think about that.. A year. Some of
us feel we just swam the English Channel if we spend fifteen minutes learning
how to build a website. And then we walk around letting everyone know not to
treat us any differently than they would the king. Yeah, right, you're hind........ous!

Well, everyone knows what happened. The engine was built and became a very
successful motor for Henry Ford. He had a goal and determination. Nothing was
going to stop him; not even twelve months of all his engineers telling him it
couldn't be done.

Simple?............Yes!

If you use it? If you have a simple goal and plan to get there you will achieve it.
Some people have a goal and plan for awhile and when they encounter a
setback, they lose faith in it.. They start out right, but some "bad" break comes
and they start acting like they're a travel agent for guilt trips.

Don't let your attitude turn you into a has-been. If you allow set-backs to dampen
your spirit it can cause you to put forth only half-hearted and very weak efforts in
future endeavors. You just won't have that fire to try with a can-do attitude.

Learn or Burn!!

Some people just seem to have this Henry Ford type of mind-set all the time.

Other people start off with a burst and then fizzle. The vast majority of people
have never really learned what this kind of mind-set can do for them.

Can it be learned? You bet!! It can be learned just like any other skill.

OH.........It hurts so good!!

But, here's the catch. You knew there would be one, didn't you? It takes
EFFORT!! Take a long hard look at your life right now. No, maybe you better not.
Just..... kidding. :>) What have you ever accomplished without effort?

What have you ever done worthwhile without rubbing elbow grease all over it till it
looked like tar baby and ber rabbit chasing sambo through a briar patch?

Don't be surprised at this, but, many people think that this kind of mind-set should
just fall down and splat all over them while they go tippy-toeing through the tulips
all day long like some ding-a-ling.

Power is Addictive!!

If you know how to make this mind-set work for you, congratulations? You're the
minority.

Perhaps you have developed and strengthened your desire until life is bringing
you everything you wish? Perhaps you haven't? Perhaps you would like to learn
the techniques necessary to release that power inside of you so that it will work
its magic in your life?

You Can Change Your World!

I used to be a has-been. Ten years ago life was a struggle for me. Then the ever
ending road to finding the success system that never fails began for me. Without
a doubt, I get 90 percent of everything in life I attempt. It used to be just the
opposite.

The techniques I used to develop this kind of power, in my life, I teach every
week in my newsletter. The principles for achieving success are universal. They
can be learned and taught. All the principles have their foundation in the proper
mind-set. Without this........, well, you had just better have been born very lucky.
You're gonna need it.

Teaching all the principles of success is obviously beyond the scope of one
article. As you follow these weekly morsels and make them a part of your life you
will experience success in its most powerful form. And the payoff will be success,
health, happiness, wealth, or whatever definite goals you have in life. These will
be yours provided you don't violate the universal laws that make them work.

Beholding Heaven..............and Feeling He**!

Such violations can be very detrimental to your success. Violating these
principles are like going to a strip club. You get all charged up, spend a whole lot
of money and, go home with that curious dry feeling between your legs.
NOTHING!!

So, keep your mind on the things you want and OFF the things you don't want.

And never underestimate the power of a negative attitude. It can prevent life's most wonderful blessings from coming to you.

Let me know what you think of this article.

The Two Choices We Face

by Jim Rohn

Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice.

To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Like the tree, it would be a worthy challenge for us all to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities. Why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that we can, for as long as we can?

Our ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability and desire will permit. To settle for doing less than we could do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings.

Results are the best measurement of human progress. Not conversation. Not explanation. Not justification. Results! And if our results are less than our potential suggests that they should be, then we must strive to become more today than we were the day before. The greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

25 Proven Strategies For Improving Your Telephone Results To Build Your MLM Dowline.

by Jason Clark
1.Reap what you sow! What does that mean? It's vital you keep
prospecting to keep the funnel full. The prospecting funnel is the
life-blood of your network marketing business. It's the heartbeat of
your business.

2.You must use your product or service no matter what you
recommend. If you don't use your product you are going to have a
tough time convincing your prospects to use it. What is your personal
story?

3.Ask yourself what are your prospects most fundamental concerns
are. Become a problem solver match your business opportunity or
product to their primary wants.

4.If you don't succeed totally on a prospecting call, qualify them
for the future. Follow up again in 6 months to check if your
prospects circumstances have changed.

5.Go back to high potential prospects that didn't join or purchase
your product. You have a much better chance when you go back because
you have developed your skills over a period of time.

6.When leaving a message with a machine or person identify
yourself. Identify yourself with your title and where you're calling
from because it adds credibility.

7.When leaving a message on voicemail speak slowly and clearly. It
gives your listener time to take notes. Always repeat important
details.

8.Prepare your voicemail strategy before making your call. Prepare
what you're actually going to say. You will sound more confident and
more competent.

9.Every time you leave a voicemail message be certain to insert
something of value and interest. Your prospect needs a reason to take
action.

10. Don't be too concerned with the best time to call a prospect.
The best time to call is when you're available. If you're not on the
phone you don't have any chance reaching anyone.

11. Have call objectives for your day and stick to! When you have
your day planned you will be more focused and likely to take action.
Take prospects from first contact to a scheduled interview.

12. Take each call, as far it will possible go. Have an objective
and reason for your call. If you have an objective of making first
contact to then interviewing your prospect take your call through
this process. Don't have a limited notion it takes X number of dials
to achieve this and make a sale.

13. Do a little more each day. Challenge yourself and you will grow...
beat your results anyway you can and it will do wonders for your
business. MLM is a personal development program with a pay plan
attached.

14. Your opening statement must always address your prospects
primary wants. What is it your prospect wants? What's in it for your
prospect?

15. Begin follow up calls with pro-active phrases like: I'm calling
to review, I'm calling to discuss, I'm calling to analyse, I'm
calling to go over what we talked about on out last call or I'm
calling to continue our conversation from last time.

16. Opening statements should be scripted, but never read. Your
opening statement should come across naturally and conversational.
Write your opening statement the same way as you speak. Role-play
with your upline or coach. Learn it word for word and memorise it. It
helps to establish the opening rapport and learn about your prospects
primary wants.

17. Go back to your inactive down line and call them. "We had the
opportunity to work together last year"... Situations change! See where
they're at and if you can work together again.

18. Pause after you have asked a question for two to three seconds
(golden silence). Give prospects time to respond. Don't answer for
them. It applies when they ask you a question. Show you're concerned
about responding to them. Think through what you're going to say back
to them. Adds credibility. Take notes about your conversations and
use keywords your prospect has used.

19. Listen for tones and feelings behind your prospects words. There
is hidden meaning in what we say, by how we say it. Face-to-face it's
called body language. It shows you've been educated on how to do
things properly. How we say something is as important as we say it.

20. Don't get frustrated when someone answers your call and are in a
rush. Accept people can be occupied with others things. Gage your
response, initial questions or call back at a more convenient time.

21. Practice listening on the phone and off. Most of us are guilty
of selective hearing. Learn not to be judgemental or biased...listen to
information and then process it.

22. If you have done everything right your prospect will volunteer
to join or purchase your product...don't count on it. Close your
prospects. Simply ask them what their next step is. What is their
plan? When? Follow up and follow through.

23. Use questions to strike with prospects convictions. Their
conviction may not be strong enough yet. Strengthen their convictions
by asking questions... What do you suggest we do from here? They will
tell you.

24. Ask for a commitment with conviction. Is there any reason why
you won't join XYZ Company today? Is that your plan? Are going to
join today? Talk in a positive way.

25. Get people to visualise using your product or service. Help
people visualise the success they can have with your business
opportunity. What does it means to them. It comes back down to your
prospects primary wants. What will $4,000 a month allow your prospect
to do? Ask them!

Big MLM Blunders: 5 Reasons People Don't Make Money In Network Marketing

by Christopher J. Sewell
It's a real shame! Too many people start an MLM business with excitement, energy, and a gleam in their eye, only to have that fire extinguished because they just can't seem to make any money. There are thousands of people, maybe even you, who right now are not as success as they would like to be.
If you learn the methods to doing this business correctly, you can make all the money you want. Let me tell you five of the top mistakes most people make that hold them back from achieving success in their Network Marketing business. I won't give any real details until later in this book. For now I just want to get you thinking about a few common problems that may be holding you back from success. All of these mistakes are avoidable. So listen up.
Avoidable mistake #1: Sending sales packages to "cold lists."First let me explain to you what a cold list is. It's a list of names that have shown absolutely, positively, no interest in your offer. They didn't request further information on your opportunity and really don't care how great your company is in the first place (despite how you feel!).
Mailing your opportunity to a cold list is the surest way to drain your bank account. These people will most likely trash your information without so much as a simple glance. The way you avoid this mistake is to only mail to "warm leads." Warm leads are leads who specifically ask for more information on your opportunity.
Avoidable mistake #2: Not following-up with your prospects! You've made no attempt to build a trusting relationship with your new prospects. But yet you have the nerve to expect them to risk their hard-earned money with you as their sponsor. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way.
Here's how you avoid this mistake. Ask your upline for the series of follow-up letters they use to recruit people. Then ask then for the phone script they've been using. You can now create yourself a good follow-up system that will get you a bunch of new downline partners.
Avoidable mistake #3: Mailing more than one offer to your prospect. There's nothing worse than opening an envelope and finding four to six other little offers falling to the floor. How amateurish! This really annoys your prospect. Your mailing goes straight to the garbage. I know where you're getting this technique from. Someone in mail order told you to stuff your envelopes with as many related offers to maximize the usage of your 33 cent stamp. Only put ONE offer in your mailings!
Avoidable mistake #4: Refusing To Spend Money On Training.Shame, shame on you! Network Marketing is a real business like any other legitimate business. And in all legitimate businesses I know of, you must learn how to work the business the right way. Otherwise, you can't expect to make any money. Without proper training you have no right expecting to make money. Always spend money on training material, books, course, tapes, etc.
Avoidable mistake #5: Being Damn Lazy. One of the biggest problems I see with many would-be MLM'ers is their laziness. All of us (and, yes, I must even include myself) are lazier than we ought to be. We're humans, right? We're brought up on the notion that "livin' is supposed to be easy." Laziness is our human birthright. Which is why most MLM'ers love to talk so much about working to make money, even though many never really apply the concept.
Let's be honest: all people are just not created equal! Despite what the industry "gurus" would have you believe, not everyone is cut out to be in business for themselves. I don't care what they tell you. Most people who enter the home-based business field would rather watch television than make a few follow-up phone calls.
Did you see your reflection in the mirror when you read the 5 big mistakes people make above? I'm sure you did. These mistakes are easy to avoid. When you become successful at avoiding them, you should see your success improve.
